Compost Mountain Boys

The Compost Mountain Boys have kept the spirit and tradition of bluegrass music alive and well for the past twenty years in Humboldt County, California.  From the redwoods, to the mountains, to the beaches, they have captured the diversity of the genre, from the old to the new. Though other excellent musicians have been band members throughout the years, this current configuration represents a combined Compost history of over 55 years. Bruce, Marty, Spu and Tim deliver the tightness and energy that has always distinguished the group. With credit to enduring friendship, a lot of shared music, and a passion for bluegrass, the Compost Mountain Boy’s latest release – ‘High on a Mountain’, showcases the powerful music they perform so well together.

Topan Jazz

Topaz Jazz includes Laura Hennings, on vocals, Tim Theiss on jazz guitar and Bill Andrews on stand-up bass. Together, they have created a smooth, sultry sound, specializing in standard Pop and Blues songs from the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s. Laura, a fan of Billie Holiday, draws the listener into the music with her lay-back and sensuous alto voice. Tim Theiss adds technical precision to his skillfully performed jazz guitar solos. Bill Andrews, a first-class bass player keeps the beat in time. Selecting songs that include popular tunes from musicals, big band hits and top 40 favorites, they move from poignant ballads, to Latin and upbeat swing tunes with ease.
