Exhibit in our Youth Gallery

Proposals accepted year round!

This space provides an amazing opportunity to showcase the pieces your students/youth have worked  hard on, increase youth confidence, as well as experience in designing and showcasing work in a professional atmosphere. Exhibitions presented in the MGMA Youth Gallery feature works of art in all media from Humboldt County youth and exhibitions organized to engage young visitors.  The HAC also welcomes and seeks to present quality exhibitions designed to educate, stimulate and inspire the youth in our community. Showcase your students or youth groups talents by applying for an exhibit in our Youth Gallery.

Art Banks

Active January, February and March

The Humboldt Docent Council has brought Art Banks to local schools for over 50 years. Museum staff and docents install items from the permanent collection, creating rotating art exhibits at schools throughout our rural community. Docents present engaging curriculum designed to inform students about art history and foster a deeper appreciation for the arts. A hand-son enrichment program is also available upon request.

Poetry Out Loud

County competition held in the Rotunda on Sunday February 1st.

Poetry Out Loud® lifts poetry off the page, creating community and connection. Since the program began in 2005, more than 4.5 million high school students have participated in this dynamic poetry recitation competition. Poetry Out Loud can help students improve public speaking skills, build confidence, and grow their appreciation for poetry.

In recognition of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, the 2025-2026 Poetry Out Loud program will focus on poems that celebrate the rich tapestry of American history and culture.
