North Coast Museum Alliance
California’s North Coast region is one of rich history, creativity, and natural beauty—as the region’s numerous museums and historic sites illustrate. From the heritage of Humboldt County’s earliest inhabitants, to the beautiful landscapes and shorelines, in a region with more artists per-capita, the North Coast has played a central role in Northern California’s cultural growth and development.
The North Coast Museum Alliance (NCMA) is the one coalition that supports all museums in Coastal Northern California. Through this partnership, the NCMA strengthens the museum community. The NCMA supports the region’s museum through:
- Developing standards and best practices for small, regional museums
- Providing partnerships and sharing resources to engage the community at large
- Advocating for museums of the North Coast Museums Alliance to thrive in a rich cultural environment
- Leading the efforts in training and professional development and education opportunities that support stewards of cultural heritage
