Join the Humboldt Arts Council at the Morris Graves Museum of Art for the monthly program, Art Talk Sunday, on August 2nd at 2:00 p.m. with exhibiting artist Sasha Lyth. The program will kick off with an informal artist talk, followed by a hands-on workshop focused on experimental cyanotype printing techniques.

The afternoon begins with a casual presentation and interactive Q&A session where Lyth will discuss her current exhibition, Blueprints to the Wilderness. Attendees will gain unique insight into the motivations, inspirations, and creative methods behind her striking body of work, exploring how her artistic process connects concept with the natural world.

Directly following the presentation, Lyth will lead an experimental cyanotype workshop open to participants of all experience levels. This hands-on session will offer a deep dive into alternative sun-printing processes, including the spontaneous effects of "wet" cyanotypes and techniques for printing on unconventional surfaces.

While all essential workshop materials will be provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own objects to expose and incorporate into their prints. Recommended items include botanical elements like leaves and flowers, transparent images, or any found objects with interesting shapes and textures. 

The event will take place at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, located at 636 F Street in Eureka.

 Art Talk Sunday is a monthly program that brings together artists and art lovers for discussions, demonstrations, and explorations of art history, techniques, and creative processes.
