2026 Celebration of the Arts Gala: Celebrating How "Art Grows Here"

The Humboldt Arts Council is proud to announce the 2026 Celebration of the Arts Gala, taking place on Saturday, May 30th, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. This year, the Council will present the 2026 Outstanding Contribution to the Arts Award to master woodworker and historical conservator Eric Hollenbeck.

The theme of this year’s gala brings the Humboldt Arts Council’s tagline to life: Art Grows Here. Few individuals embody this mission more than Eric Hollenbeck. As the co-founder of Blue Ox Millworks, Eric has spent decades cultivating a "place of healing" for at-risk youth and veterans. By sharing the discipline of Victorian-era artisanship, Eric has provided the fertile ground necessary for these individuals to find their voice and bloom into confident, skilled members of our community.

"Eric’s dedication proves that when we say, 'Art Grows Here,' we aren't just talking about galleries—we are talking about people," says Jemima Harr, Executive Director of the Humboldt Arts Council. "His mentorship has allowed local youth to flourish and find new identities through the power of craftsmanship."

The Gala serves as the Council's premier fundraising event, featuring:

  • Artistic Hors d’oeuvres by Uniquely Yours Catering.

  • Local Libations, including wines, beers, ciders, and art-themed specialty cocktails.

  • Live Experiences, featuring live music and interactive artmaking.

  • Auctions: Silent and live auctions benefiting the Humboldt Arts Council and the Morris Graves Museum of Art.

Tickets are $150 per person and will be available for purchase in April. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those who wish to invest in the continued growth of our local arts culture.
