Cal Poly Humboldt Music Department Performs at the Morris Graves Museum of Art!

Faculty members from the Cal Poly Humboldt Music Department will perform at the Morris Graves Museum of Art on Saturday, November 16th at 2:00pm. The program will contain music pieces in a variety of styles, showcasing the wide range of talent of the Cal Poly Humboldt Music Department faculty! The performing artists will provide listeners with comprehensive views on all of the chamber music works. Enjoy an afternoon of classical, cross over genres, and chamber music...
The program will include incredible collection of pieces: Fantasy Pieces for clarinet and piano by Robert Schumann performed by Jared Coyle and Avery Alexander. US premiere of six etudes by Alexandra Fol written for Daniela Mineva and performed by the pianist. Brian Post’s arrangement of Chick Corea’s children song #7 performed by Ginny Ryder, Gary Lewis, Michael Fabian, Brian Post and Garrick Woods. Garrick will also present two of his compositions Meditation #6 and Mediation #7 performed by the composer and trombone quartet with members Raymond Endert,.Gregory Quast, Nate Heron and Evan Jackson. In addition to all of this variety of music the program also includes Gary Lewis on sax and Brian Post on piano performing Hoagy Carmichael’s piece Baltimore Oriole. The duo Garrick Woods and Daniela Mineva will perform for the first time in US “Wind catcher” piece written by the prominent Bulgarian Composer Georgi Arnaudov.

The Morris Graves Museum of Art, located at 636 F Street, Eureka is open to the public noon-5p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for seniors (age 65 and over), military veterans, and students with ID; children 17 and under free; Families with an EBT Card and valid ID receive free admission through the Museums for All initiative, Museum members are free. Admission is always free for everyone on the first Saturday of every month, including First Saturday Night Arts Alive!, 6-9 p.m.
